Shipping Toy Gun from UK to USA

Anyone experience of this.

I have a TOY James Bond replica Cap gun. 1965. These were popular in the 60s now collectors items.

I have read the guidelines which says toy guns should be marked red on the tip but this is a collector item. If you did that it would trash its value.

I would like to ship to my client stateside but concerned customs could seize it - any advises or experience of how you dealt with this

Make a tip from plastic or wood thats fits in barrel (so could be easily removed) and obviously make it red to comply

I would recommend breaking the toy gun into lots of smaller parts then shipping them individually.
