Which of the following should I use on my landing pages?
  • Town name, county, England, United Kingdom
  • Town name, county, England
  • Town name, county
I feel like the first one is the proper one to go with but I'm curious what other people think.

Where do you plan to add those words?

What is the purpose of this landing page?

Have you considered alternative ways to market locations?

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I've had a think and have decided this is something to deal with later down the line. I need to read up on SEO first as a subject rather than worry about it now. Thanks.

Most of SEO is about adding value.

Why would someone want to visit your site? Would they be looking for something specific in your town? If so how does your website meet their needs?

Maybe there are better ways to promote your products and services without relying on the vagaries of Google.

Those are good points. I've got the book "The Art of SEO" so I'll read that with interest.

Many years ago I was told to stop doing SEO and start doing marketing. It was sound advice. Sell to people not the search engines.

Outside of SEO , If you trade through a limited company then it is an offence not to display the full Tegistered Office address ( not necessarily your trading address) the fact that the company is registered in England and Wales z( or Scotland or Northern if the case) as well as the registration number and full registered name with the “Ltd “ or “Limited”

Thank you. I was aware of that but was planning on using a virtual office rather than my actual address on that front.

People check addresses. A virtual address can put potential customers off. And location based SEO usually means Google expects a local address.

I would suggest adding this to your homepage as soon as possible.
With 60% of searches ending without a click, businesses need to move from rankings to citations. Also AI models don’t just index keywords; they index 'Entities' that is to say real-world connections between your business, location, and services. So the best thing you can do is to get a consistent digital footprint (NAP: Name, Address, Phone) across as many platforms as you can. Also implement advanced Schema.org markup in your webcode to hand-feed AI bots exactly who you are and what you do.
