    Hi Folks,
It’s been a while since I posted an update here, and that’s because I’ve had a lot going on personally which means I’ve not been able to be as present I would have liked. So first of all I’d like to first thank all of the regulars for being here and welcoming the new people joining and for the moderating team for helping clean up the mess left by some who joined perhaps not for the business help or advice but for other reasons ;). Thank you all.

The purpose of this announcement is a statutory one, legal reason, with more to come over the next few weeks as I work through things. So here is the legal stuff.

I have as of the end of June acquired UK Business Forums from Business Data Group (BDG). Bit of a weird one to get our heads around because I am the founder of Business Data Group, indeed it was a startup that was funded from the money I made by selling UK Business Forums back in 2007! Anyhow, BDG is not just me but has other shareholders and directors, and due to a number of reasons not relevant for a post here, it was decided to focus the BDG strategy on a particular direction that didn’t involve UKBF. I didn’t want to see an end to UKBF so I put a proposal to the board to purchase UKBF myself; they agreed, and that is what I have done :)

Now for the legal bit as I hand the next couple of paragraphs over to my solicitors who have drafted this bit…
UK Business Forums Limited (Buyer/we/us) purchased UK Business Forums on 30 June 2024. You are currently listed on Business Data Group Limited's (Seller) customer database for the purpose of using the online forum and/or subscribing to online services from the Seller.
Your personal data has been transferred to us for the continued provision of online services. We will process your personal data fairly and lawfully and in accordance with the principles and requirements of the UK GDPR.
Under the UK GDPR, we are required to provide you with information about who we are, how we process your personal data and for what purposes and your rights in relation to your personal data. This information is provided in https://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/help/privacy-policy/ and it is important that you read that information.
Please contact us on [email protected] if you have any queries about this privacy notice or our data protection practices. You can also find details of how to exercise your data protection rights in https://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/help/privacy-policy/.

Right, now that part is out of the way, what this means for this site and the members of UKBF is that the coming direction for this site may change a bit as I won't need to consider wider business objectives. I do have some ideas I’d on how I'd like to now take UKBF and some of that is different to the original plans I highlighted a couple of years ago in these forums. I’ll share more of that over the next few weeks, but in the meantime this is the statutory notice I needed to complete. You will all get a copy of this over email, as I am required to do as not everyone may read this on the forums.

I look forward to continuing to help UKBF members where and as I can in the community, and I’ll share more as things develop.

    Ozzy!
