Ive always been interested in charities as far as direct sales is concerned. But what kind of licenses would i need to start a company doing it door to door?

Charities running without any registrations and licenses may be penalized and subject to closure. So, you have good thinking about getting a license before starting. Each state has varying laws and licenses needed for charities. It is better to contact the Charities Commission for guidance.

Wasn't aware Wales or England differed regarding charity law.

Perhaps you are thinking of different states? France perhaps?

If you want to do fundraising on behalf of charities, you need to set up a fundraising company and comply with relevant fundraising charity legislation and policies.
